The electoral college was primarly created to seperate the the rich and the poor, mainly in the rich peoples favor. The rich did not want the poor gaining enough power to the extent where they were taking money from the rich. To solve this issue the indirect democracy was created. This protected the elite status of people but also gave some power to the poor but not enough to make the elite class worry. Also the electoral college was intended to give small states to have several votes in an election. Due to small populations the small states were looked passed and there votes did not affect much due to the small size.
I believe the electoral college is fair and it prevents many issues nobody wants to deal with. I like the electoral college because there is always going to be an outcome. No president can demand tecounts over and over trying to increase their chances by some way. It makes the outcome the fairest way possible. This also prevents "runoffs". If a president was elected by popular vote these runoffs would occur. Lastly, it prevents a president being popular with one particular area, region, ect. This makes it so the president needs to achieve these votes because those votes are bigger than what a president needs to get in

Head of state
Head of state insults what politicians due for their career. When Mays Gilliams held his funraiser,he took the DJ stand and turned it into a huge dance party. Typically, fundraisers are very formal events and you are supposed to dress accordingly His members in the campaign wrete angry with mays because they said it is not what you do at these parties. Then guest, including an old couple, said they loved the party and music. Another way he does make fun of them is always wearing baggy sweat pants and a coat to match. Usually candidates walk around in tuxes a majority of the day.w
Mays develops as a character and a person throught this movie. He begins as a small town man who always had the best intentions for anyone. Then, we got nominated to run, be began to mature and i spire people. He started making his own descions on how to run things and he started doing it from the heart. He didn't quit even though the odds were against him, even when all the rumors were started.

Lincolns struggles in the 13th Amendment
Lincoln faced many obstacles during his presidency while trying to pass the 13th amendment. He faced racism from the people in the house and resistance from his own cabinet. His cabinet, along with the other people were terrified of abolishing slavery because they believed Africans would have to much privileges. This amendment would give them the right to vote, own property, hold a job in office, rank higher in the military, and most importantly, steal the white peoples careers. Lincoln was doing all in his power to pass this amendment, honest Abe was not quite living up to his name. He lied by promising politicians jobs if they voted to pass the amendment. Another lie he told was that there was no peace commissioner left in the south to cancel this amendment, while there was a commissioner present in Richmond.
Lincoln's strategies to get this amendment passed were extremely risky. He could have been impeached due the bribery and lies said to politicians. Lincoln knew this would end the war at hand so he was trying even harder to pas this amendment. Lincoln was aiming for change, because he realized the emancipation proclamation could have been canceled due to no change in the constitution.

The Fall of Petoria
Peter starts his own country Petoria which is an authoritarian with a unitary system. He has special benefits with his diplomatic immunity. One is that he is the ruler of his nation and he can do whatever he wants within his boundaries.
Diplomatic immunity is the excemption from certain laws, rules, taxes, ect. An example is when he claims he doesnt have to pay for his drinks, draws graffiti and go on private property.
It all seems well but it leads to Peters downfall because he has no allies, an army , and other supplies. The griffins run out of gas, food and water. Their children are forced to he home schooled cause Petoria doesn't provide schools. This shows why not having a federal government can lead to downfall. The power is abused and it doesn't focus on the countries main necessities

Ratifying the Constitution
Ratifying the Constitution was very difficult because congress had trouble getting an unanimous vote from all 9 states on a new form of government. The people part of the "well-born few" in Philadelphia oppose this because they were concerned that it only took care of the higher social class, also the power given to the government. People believed the government would have to much power that it could handle. Part of the biggest issue was the criticism adopted by the people that the Constitution failed to adopt the Bill Of Rights. These issues were handled by letters written in the news papers of New York by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay. These were supposed to re-analyze the constitution and answer the anti-federalist. The federalist tried to assure the public that the first step was adopting the bill of rights. Madison strongly enforced by Madison in the ratification debate in Virginia. http://www.congressforkids.net/images/ratifyingconst.jpg

Articles of Confederation
The Articles failed for many reasons. Mainly because each state tried to solely run itself. They believe theres no purpose in following one government so each state created laws each citizen had to abide by. The only purpose the states would come together is if there was a threat to the whole United States. These connections became very lose and the articles became known as " a firm league of friendship" (III) Another reason it didn't run so smoothly is because the government did not have the power to tax citizens, so what could they do without any money? Lastly, in the Articles of confederation you need a unanimous vote, with larger states this made everything much difficult because not everyone had the same intentions on what they believed.

Chaos
World without a government
The world today without a structured government would be complete chaos. There would be no discipline in the world and everyone would believe that they are the leader, which would lead to fighting. Crime rates would go through the roof because there is no penalties established by law which would lead to anarchy by the public. People would establish there own price on consumer goods which may lead to frustration by the consumer. Although, the purchases of goods would be limited because how we would import goods without a government? This would also lead to illegal importing from other countries along as exporting goods,
